Recent developments in the popular video game, League of Legends, have been disrupted by a malicious “social engineering attack” aimed at the creators, Riot Games. As a result, the release of Patch 13.2 has been delayed. But on Thursday, January 26th, a small update called a “micropatch” will be released. Additional modifications will be implemented at a later date via Patch 13.2.
This micropatch, although considered small, will bring changes to some of the most popular and powerful characters in the game. Adjustments to a number of champions, including buffs and nerfs, are expected. A comprehensive list of patch notes can be accessed on the official website.
These changes are predicted to have a significant impact on the game’s meta, particularly since several of the strongest champions are targeted by the nerf hammer. While it’s difficult to predict the exact outcome, some anticipations can be made before the release of Patch 13.1B.
A total of ten champions will experience nerfs, and most of them can be considered losers in this patch – with the exception of Kassadin and Kindred, whose changes will be minimal. The other eight, however, may fall out of favor following the release of Patch 13.1B.
Champions such as Heimerdinger, Lucian, Maokai, Nami, Ryze, Udyr, and Yuumi are among the most frequently picked characters in their respective roles. The developers have targeted each of these characters, which will likely prevent them from being instant picks or bans.
Yuumi, also known as the Magical Cat, is likely to be the biggest loser as three of her abilities, including her passive, W, and E, have been affected by nerfs. Although these nerfs may not seem significant individually, when taken together, they may finally stop Yuumi from being an overpowered support character. But these changes will probably have the most effect on her professional play, which is where she is used to her fullest potential.
Other champions that may be considered losers of Patch 13.1B are those that rely on healing. Changes to Grevious Wounds items will likely reduce the healing potential of characters across the game. However, some items that apply Grevious Wounds will also see updates to their other stats, making it difficult to predict how the meta will change.
On the other hand, some champions, such as AD carry mains, will see improvements as a result of changes to basic statistics and updates to major AD carry items. Navori Quickblades, Bloodthirster, and Infinity Edge are among the items that have received small buffs, which should make them more effective for marksmen early in the game.
Patch 13.1B is scheduled to be released on Thursday, January 26th.
